I miss you 💔😇

To the family and friends of Terry Olive, please receive my heartfelt condolences. I worked with Terry back in the early 1980's at "The Elyria Home", now know as Wesleyan Village. Terry was a full time educator, but worked part time in the evening and on weekends at that time as a night watchman at "The Home". I was just finishing high school and beginning college at LCCC, so I often worked similar hours to Terry in the maintenance department. I remember Terry's wonderful sense of wit and humor, his love and knowledge of music trivia, and his joyful and encouraging personality. I will never forget one hot summer day, there were three of us painting the old carriage house at "The Home" and someone complained about the heat and the sweat, Terry immediately and enthusiastically broke into a brand new Terry composed song, "Don't Fret, It's Only Sweat".
I was saddened when I read his obituary, 67 is so very young. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May Terry's passion for living and ability to "leave the world a better place" inspire and encourage us in our days that await us.
Peace and Hope to all of you,
Stacy Scott Terrell

I'm very sorry for your loss- and ours as well. I worked with Terry at Eastern Heights. We taught an inclusion U.S. History class together for many years. He helped me to make the transition from teaching 3rd grade to 8th grade much smoother. I loved his enthusiasm for U.S. History and will never forget the songs that he wrote to help the students learn. It was always a lot of fun when he'd bring in the guitar and we'd sing! The students also loved when he brought in "Henderson" the Civil War rifle from one of his relatives and helped history to come alive through sharing the story of the rifle and his relative. He was a class act and is truly missed.
So very sorry for your loss. I was a 6th Street neighbor of Terry's long, long ago. Terry took me under his wing. Tutored me and even took me to G.E.D. classes. He showed me my potential and I will forever be grateful. Rest in peace Mr. Olive. You are a class act to be followed and admired.
To the Family of Terry Olive ........to his children most especially , we were neighbors and friends of your parents for over 13 years when we all lived on 6th St. Tressa and our Daughters Candi and Julie , were childhood friends . I remember your Dad as always positive, full of life, and a hard worker. He worked 2 jobs all the years that we knew him...Elyria High and The Methodist Home. He was a Jack of all trades ......always doing work on your House......new windows....painting....you name it, and of course playing his guitar and singing....especially on the front Porch in the Summertime. The last time we saw Terry was about 10 years ago . We ran into him and his Wife at a local Restaurant . Please except our deepest condolences for the loss of your Husband and Father.
